hilary thomas
Hilary Thomas began her nurse journey nearly 30 years ago with a traditional BSN degree and holistic nurse certification. Her first job was in a rural clinic in Malawi, Africa in 1996, the same summer she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Why not? Both nursing and nature brought her joy and belonging, and if there was a way to keep them together, she found it.
Time and time again, she kept her nursing career true to her free spirit and to the spirit of nursing. She actively engaged in the natural world while serving her communities as a registered nurse in a variety of environments- from rural hospitals in Africa and the Appalachains, to remote clinics, wilderness schools, summer camps, eating disorder treatment centers, rehab programs and most recently, private homes as a certified nurse coach in the PNW.
Hilary has certificates in herbalism, holistic stress management, and forest bathing, as well as decades of adventurous and transformative experiences to include river guiding, living abroad, log cabin building, and yoga, inner consciousness work and meditation.
Hilary became a whole-being nurse coach in 2018 through the Wisdom of the Whole Coaching Academy and incorporated the foundational structures of consciousness model into her remote and private duty coaching and nursing work. She is passionate about her lifetime commitment to growth and nurturing: during her wilderness retreat offerings, her mission is to empower nurses and other healthcare servants to explore, restore, and reconnect to their true inner and greater nature and to find their unique paths as healers in the wilds of all environments.

montana honeylion
BSc Herbal Sciences
herbalist, teacher
Montana Honeylion is a mixed Indipino (Ilokano, Ifu.gao, Pangisinan and Cherokee and Choctaw native) herbalist and mama currently living on Suquamish lands in Indianola, Washington state. Her approach as a community herbalist stems from her background in western herbalism with a Bachelors of Science in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University woven with a reclamation of indigenous health practices. Montana loves teaching herbal classes and providing individualized herbal care.
She is passionate about sustainable herbalism in all aspects and connecting people to their plantcestors that have co-evolved with their ancestors. Her primary areas of herbal focus are herbal first aid, mental/emotional wellbeing, and tending to reproductive health.
Growing up with her Cherokee & Choctaw mother, she learned from a young age how to have relationship with all beings and to treat plants not just as objects for consumption, but as alive beings who may offer their bodies for our healing. The plants she chooses to implement in her herbal practice are plants that can be harvested in abundance or easily grown in gardens.
She loves connecting people to their plantcestors and will often draw upon the client’s lineage to help them find plants that suit their constitutions and have co-evolved with their DNA. She will not exploit sacred indigenous plants and is happy to explain how to cultivate reciprocal relationship with the plant beings a client wants to work with.
